Student Visa

If you are going for studying to Spain, you might need a visa. But for those who are citizens of the countries of the European Union, there is no need to do that. The only thing you need to stay in Spain as much time as you need is a valid passport or ID card. But for all the others visa is required if you want to stay in the country for more than 90 days.
If you are traveling in Spain or going there in business purposes, you don’t need Visa up to 3 months of staying in the country. Remember that you should obtain Spanish Visa before your departure. Visa can’t be sent. Noone would give you it when you are already in the country. Visa is stamped in your passport; you present it when you are at the border.
So if you are planning to study in Spain, here is the process of your enrollment. Student visa given to you is valid up to 90 days. During this period you are to contact the authorities to get a student residency card. As long as you are in the program, this card will give you the opportunity to study in Spain.
It takes pretty much time to get a student visa as there many of those who want to obtain it. It will be easier for you if you arrive at the Consulate as early as possible. Otherwise, especially on busy days, you may simply be not attended. Your documentation should be submit, that’s why your personal appearance is obligatory. The list of the documents you should present is the following: a valid passport (it should be valid at least 6 months), 4 passport size pictures (proportionally to the number of copies of your application, stapled on each one) and the original letter (you should address it to the Consulate General, verifying your payment and the enrollment in an official Spanish school or university, your full payment of tuition, that you are a full-time student) and a medical certificate. Your doctor should verify your good health on doctor’s stationery, that you don’t have any contagious disease, mental illnesses or drug addiction. The doctor should sign the letter.
Living expenses in Spain also must be submitted. Spanish study program should provide you with the letter of acceptance and the letter saying about your complete financial responsibility for your room, board and study tuition. You should have an account in one of the Spanish banks ($350 per month minimum balance); or a proof of some scholarship or financial aid. They should cover such expenses as: tuition, board, room and personal expenses (also $350 per month minimum). It may be a letter from your parents, saying they are responsible to pay for your studying in Spain ($350 per month minimum).
The process may take several weeks, but that is the price you have to pay if you want to study in Spain.
