Spanish alphabet has the following look: a,b,c,ch,d,e,f,g,h,I,j,k,l,ll,m,n,o,p,q,r,s,t,u,v,w,x,y,z. It differs from English one by three additional letters: ch (che), ll (elle) and ñ (eñe)
There also some peculiarities connected with letters “k” and “w”. In general in Spanish there aren’t words with this letters, unless they appeared through translation. And there is a variant of letter “r” – “rr”, it means “r” vibrant
As for Spanish dictionaries, there are also some special moments. For example, old dictionaries give words which begin with “ch” after all words which begin with “c” and new dictionaries do as in English language.
Other things which may confuse you in Spanish language are accented vowels. In some alphabets they are considered as separate letters, but in Spanish they are just variants of usual vowels and you just have to remember the rules of their usage.
In comparison with English, there are many words which have similar pronunciation with different spelling, for example: the word “baby” in English and the word “bebe” in Spanish.
As you have notion about Spanish characters, you may plan your journey to Spain. Spanish people are very hospitable and they are usually very glad when foreigners try to learn their language. Also use this trip to learn more Spanish culture, which is extremely interesting.
